Upcoming Show - Alisa Tagg!
January 21st to the 27th is a very special week - Activity Professionals Week! Tune in on Saturday January 20th at 8:30am 89.5 WSOU to hear from Alisa Tagg, President of the National Association of Activity Professionals (NAAP). This field is particularly known for the high quality care, engagement, and communication that it offers individuals. To put it simply, Activity Professionals truly make a difference in their communities. The history of this career path dates all the way back to ancient times - when activities such as music and dance were used to treat ill patients. Throughout the years, the basic premise of helping the needy developed into programs and organizations, such as elderly homes and almshouses. Today, skilled individuals known as Activity Professionals work diligently to improve the quality of life for those whom they serve. Many work in long-term care facilities, where they develop relationships with the residents and help them to pursue their needs, goals, and dreams. On Saturday, Alisa will share essential insight as to what the typical day of an Activity Professional looks like, how someone can join the field, and what joys and challenges are associated with it. Tune in to hear more!
